These virtual prayerwalks are from the Invasion Altares area of Hermosillo, Sonora. This is a very poor section of the city where the people live without many modern conveniences. There is no electrical service, no water or sewer, and no paved streets. The residents have simple houses constructed on lots that measure 10x20 meters. Many of them are living in temporary shelters while they construct houses of brick or concrete block.
Since early 2005 we have been working alongside Peniel Baptist Church to reach this community and plant a new church. To date, more than 30 people have accepted Christ. Members of Peniel go to the area weekly to lead Bible studies in homes. The group is requesting that the government donate a small tract of land so that a small chapel can be constructed.
